World Cup 2010 - Round 1

[ Posted: 02/06/2010 ]

The first round of the 2010 World Cup season took place a few weekends ago in Ripoll, Spain.  Despite the travel problems caused by the volcano in Iceland, a large number of Trialtech team riders managed to make it to the event.  As this was the opening round, it was the first time to see their fellow competitors from across the world and find out who had been training hard over the winter months.

The competition proved to be extremely tight and a number of talented riders were eliminated at an early stage.  However, Trialtech team rider Rick Koekoek (Holland) finished in a very respectable 3rd place overall in the 20" category with Spanish rider Diego Barrio in 8th, Karol Serwin (Poland) in 9th and Roger Keller (Switzerland)17th.  Full results can be found on the UCI website. The next round will be held in Italy at the end of June.
